Kalter Stern
2026. The world is spiraling out of control and FLUTEN are writing songs that oscillate between dark intensity, lyrical sharpness, and vulnerable hope. Since 2007, the Hamburg-based band has been developing its own sound, a blend of raucous guitars, electronic loops, pop fragments, and melancholic poetry. Where others seek clarity, FLUTEN find their tension in the spaces in between: between noise and groove, melody and din, alienation and longing. Their new album, "Kalter Stern" (Cold Star), will be released this fall. It's darker, denser, and more urgent than its predecessor, "Splitter" (Fragments). The songs tell of life in a damaged present and are both political and personal. They deal with crumbling securities and certainties that no longer hold and simultaneously with moments of resistance and leaps into the unknown. Between militant poems and fantastical uniforms, between the open sea and cold stars, a language emerges that needs no slogans to express dissent. No nostalgia to touch the listener. FLOODS sound like a film that isn't told linearly. Like a feeling that lingers on your skin. Like a voice saying: It won't be easy. But we're here now.
