This album is the result of a collective creative process centred on the Ritmo Exotico; a musical genre that emerged 12 years ago in Choco (on Colombias Pacific coast) and which is becoming increasingly prominent on the contemporary Colombian urban music scene. According to its producers, the Ritmo Exotico represents a form of resistance expressed through dance. For many young people in Choco, it has been an alternative - a way of transforming their environment through art. It is not just a new sound: it is a community in motion.
