The Ensemble Alraune presents the 7th volume of the Serie "Musica & Regime" exploring the different ways the musicians reacts with their art to repression. The musicians of Alraune support a political idea of music from the principle that no human act can be non-political. Hence the interest in the relationship between music and regimes that has been leading for 10 years now to perform scores born under authoritarian regimes. This volume, containing three unexplored masterpieces by Schulhoff, Hindemith, and Rieti, concludes the first part of the project that dealt with the first part of the 20th century in Italy and Germany. The Musica & Regime project will continue in the coming years with composers from different contexts and periods, always with the aim of discovering how music takes shape in the various forms of authoritarian, dictatorial, or capitalist regimes.
