The hypnotic RITUALS with its rhythms reminiscent of voodoo sounds pulls the listener further into the dark depths of the album, which comes up with surprising and dramatically staged twists.The menacing calm of DARK CLOUDS leads to an ethno-percussive climax. While the minimally electronic beginning NIGHTBIRD builds up a tension that finally discharges in an orchestral cathartic way.The instrumental CORRIDOR leads to the oppressive ARTIFACTS. A ghostly melody hovers over a heart-pounding rhythm,providing the soundtrack to a self-awareness in which all certainties seem to vanish and the abyss seems just a step away,performed by an unlikely guest speaker: British Disco "Big G" Perrineau -Band eruption. The stoically grooving SLOW POISON develops from the booming rhythm of rusty machines. Restrained piano sounds in the sparsely instrumented NEVERLAND accompany the melancholy vocal melody, which sticks in your head.
