Visceral Contempt

Visceral Contempt rose from the ashes of Human Demise, which disbanded in 2013. Vocalist Maurice and guitarist Willem stayed in touch, and in 2023 Willem wrote three old school metalcore tracks built around the concept of Operation Oyster the WWII Allied bombing raid on the Philips factories in Eindhoven. Maurice penned the lyrics and rehearsals began. Victor (Dark Intentions / Pigteeth) joined on drums, and the debut demo The Raid was recorded in February 2024. The demo was released later that year, with Johan (ex-No Turning Back) stepping in on bass. The band played their first shows in December 2024 and 2025, supporting Earth Crisis, Mindwar and Rancor. Since then, new material has taken shape in the vein of Ringworm, Kickback and All Out War: heavy metallic hardcore with vicious vocals done the oldschool way. Lyrically, the band digs into new "visceral" territory: the guillotine, rats, and the madness of religion. The debut EP Sequester was recorded in October 2025 and mixed at Overdose Audio. With five new songs and a remastered demo in hand, WTF Records jumped at the chance to release them together on CD
