Traitor
Thrash Command
On their debut album "Thrash Command," which is now being re-released, TRAITOR have lived out their passion down to the last detail. On the cover, a grim mascot dismantles the stage of a poser band. The artist is Andreas Marschall, who also designed SODOM's "Agent Orange" album, among others. The songs are called "Merciless Hate," "Virtual Tormentor," and "Spiritual Warfare." Got it? Musically, too, one obvious reference follows another. KREATOR, DESTRUCTION, SLAYER, and other greats of the genre clearly served as inspiration here. TRAITOR skillfully carry on the legacy: with classic riffing, good songwriting that makes use of both heavy riffs and slow-moving passages, and aggressive shouting that is somewhat reminiscent of the young Mille Petrozza.
