Sorgini, Giuliano
Savana Selvaggia
Eight years after Africa Oscura, Four Flies returns to Giuliano Sorgini's afro-dark universe with Savana Selvaggia, a collection of previously unreleased music recorded for 1970s television documentaries. A tribute to the Africa that deeply influenced Sorgini, the album blends ancestral percussion, synthesizers, enigmatic melodies, and mystical atmospheres between ethnographic music, psychedelia, and Kraut electronics. From hypnotic jungle soundscapes to the brighter, contemplative mood of tracks like "Wild Life" and "Alba sulla savana", the record reveals a remarkable sonic range. Its fascination with the animal world and shared palette of Moog, Solina, and drum machines also recalls Zoo Folle, possibly drawing from the same 1974 sessions.
