Rubinsztein/Karlsson is a duo driven by a desire to make people dance! They want to feel the tension in a room when the heat is rising and the sound of fiddles ploughs through a simmering dance floor. With natural rawness and warm sensitivity theyre doing a deep dive into the traditional music from Varmland and the Norwegian border. With a deep love for traditional music, Rubinsztein/Karlsson have built a repertoire of tunes shared with them by fiddlers and role models, through archives and sheet music. The album is a tribute to all of those who have come before them who have passed on their knowledge. It's the result of responsive listening and learning, crafted from hours of exploring their common resonance, where the instruments viola d'amore and moraharpa create a unique sound that touches the soul.
