In the wake of old (The Kinks) and new (Foxygen) flagships of surf and garage rock, the project of Viennese-by-choice Jannik Riess stirs up its own spray. Simple but carefully arranged coral reefs sit as firmly in the leather seat as a Ray Ban on the nose. Potato Beach immerses even the most potato-fuelled day on Danube Island in Californian Polaroid blurs, despite warm cans of beer and sunburn.
