The Forgotten Tome is the second full-length album from Irish extreme metal outfit Overoth and features artwork from Game Of Thrones storyboard artist Will Simpson; a collection of tales steeped in fantasy, fables of war, magic, good and evil. But underlying each song is a hidden and much deeper narrative, with modern society, nature and humankind being points of discussion. Musically The Forgotten Tome sees Overoth explore orchestration to a much higher degree than what has been done on previous records. Death metal is at its core but each song is layered with strings, keys, horns, and so forth to make for a much grander and epic soundscape from start to finish. For fans of Septicflesh & Behemoth.
