Mon, The
Songs Of The Abandon
Embrace The Abandon is the new project from THE MON, the personal and introspective sonic universe of Urlo, founding member and vocalist/bassist of Ufomammut, as well as co-creator of Malleus Rock Art Lab and the independent label Supernatural Cat. It is a work in two parts, complementary and in dialogue with each other, which address the concepts of abandonment and acceptance as two phases of an inner journey. The first chapter, Songs of Abandon, represents the most fragile and intimate dimension of the project. It is an album born in a moment of solitude, when abandonment was not just an abstract idea but a real condition. In those days, Urlo decided to transform the emptiness into music, creating a personal ritual: writing one song a day, for nine consecutive days, using only acoustic guitar and voice. These songs, initially stark and direct, were subsequently reworked with the addition of lyrics and subtle, yet unobtrusive, sonic details designed to amplify the emotional atmosphere without distorting their raw, vulnerable essence. The goal was to retain as much of the rawness and sincerity of that original gesture as possible, restoring a sense of almost confessional intimacy to the listener.
