Lost Cherrees
Blashphemy (early Years)
Collection of early material from this iconic first wave anarcho punk outfit. The post-Crass school of politically infused British punk can sometimes veer so far into experimental territory that the brash and direct sound foundational to the movement becomes obscured by more indulgent musical tendencies. Thankfully this sickness never infected Lost Cherrees catalogue, which maintained a firm footing in the parallel street punk sound of the era. In other words, the group was as comfortable with the somber political diatribes as they were fist pounding pogo anthems, all unified by the infectious and unique dual femme vocal attack. This collection of early EPs originally released on Conflict's Mortarhate/Fight Back labels showcases a tuneful, politically incendiary punk group at the height of their powers.
