Nothing has changed in the composition of the band and like on the previous album, ska and reggae come along with a subtle touch of southern blues. Friedel's self-made cigar box guitars - played skillfully, of course - make the songs unique. Caribbean feeling with "Nevertheless" wonderfully biting and time-critical lyrics. This shows once again that Friedel has his ears (and eyes) on the pulse of the times. He never loses respect and sets a counter-trend to the current verbal gaffes in (a)social media and networks. One can only hope that this example will make a career. The album grooves at every corner, sounds wonderfully organic and impressively continues the path that began more than 40 years ago. With the predecessor "In the great tradition of small household goods" it was rumored that it could well be the last Geier album. But the band countered these speculations with "Nevertheless" and at the same time showed them the red card. Once a vulture, always a vulture. And because the band's biggest hit is now a whopping 40 years old, there is now a new recording of "Gross National Product". This gives you almost 40 minutes of high spirits that you won't want to be without.
