Mussorgsky, Stevenson: Pictures - Music For Two Guitars
This exciting new production by Da Vinci Classics offers an unusual encounter with Mussorgskys famous piano masterpiece - which is also regularly performed as an orchestral suite - in a version for guitar duet. Mussorgsky composed this work to honour the memory of a deceased friend, who was a gifted painter. Visiting the exposition in which Hartmanns artworks were displayed became for Mussorgsky an opportunity for reflecting on the sense of art, of friendship, of the afterlife.
