Dawn Of The Dark Age
Ver Sacrum
Talented Jazz musician, Vittorio Sabelli manages to combine the iconoclastic fury of Avantgarde Black Metal with the refinement and experimentation of the clarinet sound which becomes the main protagonist of a music that emerges from the ancient popular roots of Folk to predominantly contaminate itself with the elements of Extreme Metal. "Ver Sacrum" sees the presence of a new singer, Ignazio Cuga, aka Brusiòre, of the Sardinian Folkish Black Metal band KRE'U and this gives the sound a new depth and greater pathos. Musically, it is even darker and more sinister, with truly ancient atmospheres that leave an indelible mark on this work. The theme once again harks back to the Samnites, and in particular to the so-called Sacred Spring (Ver Sacrum in Latin), a social and religious ritual common in pre-Roman times. So, we just have to wait; extreme music, folk music and jazz will once again blend together in a balance, capable of telling stories of times gone by in an absolutely unique and precious way. With the great cover artwork realized by the Norwegian photographer Kjetil Karlsen, "Ver Sacrum" is a documentation of a dark ancient Art. A must for fans of Agalloch, Wolves In The Throne Room, Primordial, Saor, White Ward.
