As the surf sound of the early to mid 60s started to fade, a new sound took over, both on the radio airwaves and in movie theaters. American International Pictures, responsible for so many of the BEACH PARTY movies of the era, moved on to the BIKER film, characterized by the FUZZ tone of Davie Allan & the Arrows, with well-known B-movie titles as THE WILD ANGELS, THE DEVIL'S ANGELS, THE GLORY STOMPERS, and many more. THE CYCLEPATHS, formed in 2024 and hailing from Vancouver, BC, Canada, explore the world of the 60s outlaw motorcycle club with their debut album, CYCLE SAFARI. With various members on loan from other lower mainland surf bands, the HANG-TEN HANGMEN, MAI TAI FRIDAY, and the SURF SHAKERS, and fronted by surf music veteran guitarist and songwriter, MARK BRODIE (THE SABOTEURS, THE METALUNAS), THE CYCLEPATHS present 12 fuzzed-out odes to the 60s outlaw biker gang!
