On May 24th, 2005, Underground, Inc. released a tribute to Public Image Limited, one of the most influential post punk bands of the last two decades. With contributions from an eclectic group of artists spanning 30 years and 3 continents, "tribute"pays fitting. ...The Sex Pistols were a tough act to follow, even for Johnny Rotten. After that band's entropic dissolution, Rotten reclaimed his civilian surname, Lydon, and started Public Image Ltd.. Martin Atkins joined in 1979 in time to contribute to the band's second release 'Metal Box'. He stayed (off and on) until 1985. Then started his own label Invisible Records...... 25 years after the bands classic, disruptive appearance on American Bandstand, martin has compiled a ground-breaking, genre twisting tribute to PiL with contributions from an eclectic group of artists spanning 30 years; underlining PiL's contribution to the current scene, or emphasizing the current scene's fascination with this era of PiL... never simply a sound, but an attitude.
