Rock And Roll Pills

REMASTERED FROM THE ORIGINAL TAPES, 180 GRAM DELUXE VINYL, OLD STYLE TIP-ON COVER. A mixed sex album of rocking sides from 1956 with the five guys mixing it with five chicks! A prolific song writer, Jean Chapel recorded some of the best rockabilly issued on Sun with the single Welcome To The Club/I Wont Be Rockin Tonight. Unissued takes of Barbara Pittmans Sentimental Fool and Voice Of A Fool. Both Maggie Sue Wimberly tracks were previously unissued takes. Previously unissued Wade & Dick track. First release of the Sun material recorded by Macy "Skip" Skipper, who also had a single out on Memphis Light label. Two previously unissued sides from Jimmy Williams from his first session at Sun. He had one single issued on the label. The Kirby Sisters, Bette and Mary, had their recording session interrupted by the jealous writer of Red Velvet, who threatened Sam Phillips with legal action. Phillips aborted the session and the song remained unreleased until this album. Pianist/vocalist Bette Kirby committed suicide in 1970. Carl McVoys Tootsie was first released as the first single on Hi Records before being leased to Sam Phillips.
