Suburbs, The
A Pagan Ritual; Live At The Cabooze 1983
"Live at the Cabooze features the original 5 piece Suburbs lineup and was culled from a two night stand in 1983. The pristine analog live recordings were captured courtesy of Paul Stark and Steve Fjelstad and the infamous Stark/Mudge mobile recording unit that was also notably pressed into service for Credit in Heaven and The Replacements' Hootenanny album. Stark one of the partners at Twin/Tone, the label responsible for the earliest releases of The Suburbs, Soul Asylum, The Replacements and many other key artists has done yeoman's duty preserving and digitizing the Twin'Tone assets over the years. The multitrack recordings for this show (and others....) sat in the vaults for over 4 decades before the stars aligned and A Pagan Ritual: Live At The Cabooze 1983 finally saw the light of day. The 12 songs here (6 from In Combo, 5 from Credit in Heaven and Waiting, their 1982 smash club hit) are presented with a superb sonic sheen that perfectly captures the moment with palpable almost like you were there quality."
