Sofar brings pop noir. Songs about lonely wanderings through thenight and the reverie of green fields elsewhere. Sofar opts for an authentic vintage band sound, diluted with synths or electronics. Never too soft, certainly not too loud. Five musicians from Ghent looking for the right way/sound between alternative and chanson. The band name refers to "The Sofar Channel," a special layer deep in the ocean where sound moves in a unique way. The sound waves may move slower there, but they reach much further. Sofar grosses in atmospheric, sometimes melancholy Indie music, always balancing on the thin line between light and dark, wandering between dream and deed.
