Prysock, Red
Rock'n'roll
Wilburt "Red" Prysock was one of the first American tenor saxophonists to take the influence of Jazz masters such as Coleman Hawkins in a distinctly R&B direction. The brother of R&B singer, Arthur Prysock, with whom he played on numerous sessions, Red is probably best known for the 1955 hit "Hand Clappin" which is included on this LP. A classic groovin R&B instrumental with honking sax work from Red, the track is universally beloved by swingers, greasers, and anybody with a hankering to dance. But "Hand Clappin" is not the only thing to love here on RockNRoll, theres 11 more classics to jump and jive to; Zoot suit and pork pie hat not included.
