El Tiempo Quiere Cantar
Pacha Wakay Munan, the duo formed by Dimitri Manga Chávez and Ricardo López Alcas, revives pre-Hispanic instruments such as Nasca antaras, pututos, and Chimú whistling vessels, exploring their sonic possibilities in a contemporary musical context. Their work aligns with the tradition of sound explorers like Arturo Ruiz del Pozo and Yaki Kandru. El tiempo quiere cantar does not seek to reconstruct lost sounds but rather to document and expand the capabilities of these instruments. The album's repertoire ranges from pieces inspired by historical accounts, such as El Taki Onkoy, to timbral explorations like Machu Tara.
