Led by saxophonist/band leader Franco Proietti (ex-Kobayashi) and MC/singer Jonathan Emile (also part of Kalmunity, the #1 Jazz group in Montreal); Exclamations is the fourth cd by The Morph-tet (also known as The Franco Proietti Morph-tet). The group is joined by rap legend KRS-ONE on the track What It Is. Voted the #2 Montreal Jazz Artist of the Year for 2013 (and 2012 for that matter), The Morph-tet have also been on the Grammy Awards jazz longlist for their last 3 albums. But to peg The Morph-tet into the narrow confines of jazz would not reveal the entire scope of their musical power. Exclamations builds on that canvas by going deeper and more confidently into funk, hip-hop, R&B, and soul. Its a vision thats been there from the start as the band honed its live chops and tested the mettle of players over the years to get to the definitive aggregation we have today - a genre-defying funk machine that raises the party bar gig by gig.
