AR, a new sonic language: new instruments, new sounds, a consistently original approach. Reinhard Lakomy deliberately chose not to follow the Berlin School centered around Tangerine Dream; instead, he forged a new, distinctive aesthetic that took a different path. His range of expression had expanded immensely, yet his immense, seemingly endless richness of timbre remains clearly defined. Lakomy himself described the album as follows: "It's simply music created with the appropriate means without any barriers between orchestral sound, electronic sound, and whatever else is currently possible." (Quote from: Radiobar, Funkhaus Berlin, October 31, 1991) In 1991, just under ten years after his first "Electronics" album, Reinhard "Lacky" Lakomy presented AR, a mature, self-contained work that synthesized his previous experiences and led him into new sonic dimensions.
