It Was A Bright Cold Day In April...

A five-track instrumental statement born of noise-driven energy and eclectic, freely expressed experimentalism. Named after the opening sentence of George Orwell's 1984, the album unfolds as a hypnotic force of structured chaos: visceral, disturbing in the best sense, and performed with absolute conviction. The Berlin-based, boundary-crossing quartetknown for its intense fusion of art rock, post-rock, and free improvisationexpands its classic lineup of two guitars (Wilhelm Stegmeier, Eleni Ampelakiotou), bass (Roland Feinäugle), and drums (Achim Faerber) with guest musicians and an extended array of instruments ranging from clavinet to synthesizers. The result is immersive, dense, and slowly burning sonic architectures. Characterized by repetition, tension, and constant transformation, the translucent soundscapes oscillate between explosive energy, structural precision, and the free flow of improvisation. Physically, atmospherically, and uncompromisingly, GLEN oscillates between minimalism and eruption. Raw yet consciously controlled a guided chaos, driven by friction, recurrence, and gradual metamorphosis.
