Five Bucks/poo Poo Talks
Split
While much of today's garage-punk conversation still orbits around Australia, Italy has been quietly building its own restless, DIY undercurrent. Across basements, social centres and makeshift stages, a new wave of young bands is reshaping the language of punk with instinct, irony and a complete disregard for polish. Some have started calling it simply ROK. With this 12" split LP, out April 20th, 2026, Wild Honey Records captures a fragment of that world, pairing two of its most unpredictable new voices: Five Bucks and Poo Poo Talks, both making their official debut. Five Bucks started in 2022 as the bedroom project of Jekke, piecing together punk-leaning songs, cheap recordings and the occasional "stupid sci- keyboard" into something deliberately unsteady yet strangely coherent. What began as a solitary experiment soon evolved into a full band, pushing that same deconstructed approach into a louder, more volatile dimension. Their sound now moves between fractured synth-punk, warped garage hooks and a kind of controlled collapse that never quite falls apart. Poo Poo Talks, from Rome, operate with a sharper edge. Rooted in egg punk absurdism, their music thrives on repetition, immediacy and a gleeful rejection of taste. Self-described as "poo poo music for pee pee people", they blur the line between joke and intent, turning stripped-down structures into something oddly confrontational and addictive. More than a simple pairing, this split reects a shared mindset: DIY as identity, humour as disruption, and a refusal to conform to any established blueprint. Rather than looking outward, it documents a scene in the act of dening itself: raw, unstable, and very much alive! For Fans of: Bee Bee Sea, Gee Tee, Eggpunk, Jay Reatard
