Cult favorites Cheekface return July 28 with their 666th album "Podium." A brighter, taller, wider take on the so-sad-it's-funny-or-so-funny-it's-sad talk singing they're known for, "Podium" is likely to please both loyal Cheek Freaks as well as fans of Cake, They Might Be Giants, Viagra Boys, Ween, Sleaford Mods, and Jeff Rosenstock. The last Cheekface album peaked at #2 on the NACC non-comm radio chart and #1 on the Sub-Modern radio chart, and "Podium" songs are already in rotation on KEXP and other major tastemaker stations. Cheekface's last several albums were heaped with praise by Anthony Fantano, who said of the band's 2025 album, "Cheekface's music continues to serve as a reminder that one of the coolest things you can be is yourself." Cheekface will tour extensively in the Fall, headlining venues up to 800 capacity in the US, Canada and the UK. More fun Cheek Facts: the band made news a few months ago for turning down an AT&T ad due to AT&T's $91 million contract with ICE; TikTok furries have made a dance trend out of Cheekface catalog cut "I Feel So Weird" (yes you read that right), making over 5,000 videos and counting fur-syncing to its memorable lyrics.
