Three Parts Shot Away
The Amber Squad, back in the studio and still sounding as energetic as ever, release "Three Parts Shot Away" b/w "Stop The World". The "A" side is a full frontal, high octane power pop attack, with trademark vocal harmonies, a classic "Clarion call" guitar intro' and a lyrically topical commentary on rolling with the punches in todays' fractured society. The song's title was inspired by vocalist Richard Beechey's late father, Charlie, who - after one too many glasses of Red - would state that he felt "Three Parts Shot Away". The "B" side is a pithy and hard-hitting tale about a dysfunctional romantic encounter which quickly spirals out of control, with the band producing a great "live" feel in the strident and spiky backing track. Both tracks were recorded at Parlour Studios in Kettering and were engineered and mixed by Neil Haynes
