Eden Weint Im Grab
Geysterstunde I
With "Geysterstunde I", the band returned to their metal roots, partly they act even more brute than in the past. But also the poetic elements are an important part of the album, since beside three poetry pieces the record also contains various recitative parts with an abysmal timbre. This time also the other musicians - drummer Zeus X. Machina and the guitarist Andrei Alexandru, Marco Eckstein and Michael Tamme - have been part of the recordings. Alexander Paul Blake, however has mixed and produced the 15 songs in his Winter Solitude studio in Berlin. Furthermore the band welcomes former Depressive Age singer Jan Lubitzki with his deep, clean voice as guest vocalist in "Tango Mortis", an innovative song that combines tango and melodic death metal. But also apart from that "Geysterstunde I" is a diversified, entertaining album which enriches the typical Eden Weint Im Grab sound with influences from doom, black metal, fair music, or waltz (a 6/8 beat is often used). This way every song has its own character, which underlines the lyrics and creates an enormous graphic quality. Beside that the record contains a lot of songs which really stuck in your head - what would Eden Weint Im Grab be without catchy melodies?!
