After Midnight At The Apollo

NOT FOR SALE TO G.A.S (GERMANY, AUSTRIA, SWITZERLAND) In August 1994, Cale put out his 11th studio album Closer To You, on the French label, Detabel, a record of which Allmusic.com said; "With the dazzling Closer to You, J.J. Cale finds ever-newer surprises in his own remarkable corner of the musical world." In the wake of the records release the sometimes-reluctant Cale went out on the road to promote his new set, and in early October he played three nights at Londons Hammersmith Apollo. The second of these dates, performed on October 6th, was recorded for live FM transmission across the UK, and back home in the US too. Still generally considered one of J.J.s finest shows of the era
