Like A Motorcycle
High Hopes
We found this band when they were rocking the Nova Scotia Music Week last year in Yarmouth. The Canadian four piece showed that recording a perfect sounding album is one thing, but doing a good live job is the other. This energy was captured on High Hopes: Raw, vehement, partly frenetic and screeching, partly melodic and the lyrics written with a sense of self-irony. Inspired by classics like Pixies, Nirvana, Oasis, Rollings Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Heart, Wire, Joy Division and contemporary bands like The Dandy Warhols, Fidlar, The Orwells, The OBGMS they play their style of punkrock grunge. Another unique feature, drummer Michelle is taking over lead vocals for most songs, accompanied by Jillian (guitar, backing vocals), KT (guitar, backing vocals) and Kim (bass, backing vocals). High Hopes was recorded at Soundpark Studios guided by producers Albert Lionais and Jamie Foulds, who left enough scope for development. Vinyl is coming with printed inner sleeves and download codes, the CD in a nice digipak
