The Telstar Sound Drone will release their debut album on Bad Afro May 27th. The album is called Comedown and will be released as LP (first 500 copies includes a free CD of the entire album) and download. Expect feedback-ridden psychedelic rock as well as slow heavy psych. The Telstar Sound Drone formed in 2007 when Hans Beck convinced Mads Saaby to join him in a project called Les Aprs L'amour Sonnes, an artist collective working with media such as sound and video. The first project was to add sound to old educational movies, playing along with the projections. With the addition of Sean Jardenbk the project turned into a band and settled with the name The Telstar Sound Drone. The band recorded a self-titled EP that led to a show at Roskilde Festival in 2009. After that The Telstar Sound Drone took a break while internal problems almost destroyed the band. At one point Hans Beck was the only member of the band playing all the instruments. The problems were solved and in spring 2011 they released the Mirror Pieces 7" on Bad Afro. It has taken some time for the band to finally get Comedown finished which is also due to fact that Hans Beck and Mads Saaby also play in Baby Woodrose and have been touring Europe a lot for the past couple of years. Satellited is the first single from Comedown due to be released April 8th. The Telstar Sound Drone line-up is: Sean Jardenbk (Vocals, Guitar), Mads Saaby (Guitar) and Hans Beck (Drums). The 2008 masterpiece Constructing Towers available again on CD and now through Denovali! Terminal Sound System is the nom de plume of Skye Klein, who merges together electronica, drum and bass and rock music on Constructing Towers. Packing all these elements into a single noisy convergence of drum splashes and distorted fizz is opening track 'In Your Planet', which sounds like a grand finale to the album before it's even got underway. Elsewhere, 'Year Of The Pig' holds itself together with a dubstep-influenced bassline that's constantly threatening to blow its top - which it does, repeatedly. 'Alaska' is another fiery package, full of thrashy malevolence. Towards the end of the album a soundtrack-style, loungey jazz theme seems to set in through the Twin Peaks vibes of 'Duchamp Falls' and 'Theme For Broken Home', making for a far more rounded listening experience than the powerful bluster of its early stages might have suggested.

The genre of sex education-movies boomed massively in Germany in the late Sixties. Based on a (more or less) scientific plot the audience was for the first time confronted with bare facts in form of nudity. In this category successful director Franz Josef Gottlieb shot several pictures even for Oswalt Kolle, the originator of the genre. For production company"Rialto Film" however he adapted a 40 year old book by the Dutch gynecologist Theodoor Hendrik van de Velde to create two (pseudo-) scientific movies for the eager audience: "The Perfect Marriage" (1968) and "Every Night of the Week" (1969).Producer Horst Wendlandt asked his friend Peter Thomas ("Space Patrol", "Jerry Cotton") to compose original scores for both films. Until then they had worked together in numerous "EdgarWallace" films and other blockbusters. Peter Thomas got honoured with the German Composers Award for his lifework in 2009. Here the composer is in his element again; contemporary jazz and beat arrangements, and unconventional use of the human voice dominate. Together both scores deliver a fascinating insight into the mastery of one of the most prominent composers of the German motion picture industry. Besides this release is a real world premiere: Most of the tracks, so the complete score of "Every Night of the Week" have been discovered in the archives only now, 40 years after their recording. Just some titles from "The Perfect Marriage" have been released once in Canada on one of the rarest soundtrack LPs ever.
