The new Statesboro Revue album RAMBLE ON PRIVILAGE CREEK, Described by singer/guitarist Stewart Mann as earthier with catchier hooks, this new music is pure living energy that winds through light and lofty atmospheres down through the depths of sweet Celtic miseries and over to angry growls through clenched teeth.all without ever losing that gypsy pulsation that is the very definition of rock and roll. Fade My Shade of Black kicks off Ramble on Privilege Creek, starting like it might hold toward the acoustic side of the ledger, but that doesn't last very long. Soon, it's rocking, but rocking in a cross-genre way that marks this second offering by The Statesboro Revue as something special for those of us in Americana Land who like a little rock, too. Like the rest of the record, Fade is marked and made by Stewart Mann's vocals. He's got the kind of voice that you can build a band around. Brother Garrett seems pretty comfortable on lead guitar, and together they form the nucleus of something special."Huck Finn" reminds of a Levon Helm-sung Band song, "Cold November" with it's weepy pedal steel, lurking organ and soulful vocals recalls the quiet side of the Black Crowes and "Til I Leave" sounds like early Foghat as reimagined by Jack White.
