This set is a bit of a departure from his usual trio recordings of the time, but the results are no less fantastic. 180 gram DMM LP (45rpm) audiophile HQ virgin vinyl. Recorded live at The Village Vanguard in New York on June 25, 1961, this was the fourth album by the Bill Evans Trio, composed of pianist Bill Evans, bassist Scott LaFaro, and drummer Paul Motian. Scott LaFaro was one of the supreme jazz bassists, a virtuoso player whose playing changed the very conception of his instrument. This album unfortunately also represents one of LaFaros last performances, recorded just days before his tragic death at the age of 25 by automobile accident. Interestingly the album also contains tracks that Evans had recorded prior to working with LaFaro, so that this recording provides a very accurate index of the bassists great contribution to the trio.

As the enthusiastic author pointed out, it is possible to see such pearl in Berlin - EvilMrSod! Pablo Ramn Rodriguez Rivero, born at Tenerife, stranded in Berlin a few years ago and never left, is matured to an impressive singer and songwriter after his first longplayer. EvilMrSods own acoustic-punk-version of "Girl With A Gun" is now the opener on his second album "Devil's Right Hand" and provides a journey through EvilMrSods musical mind with 16 diverse and original tracks. If one had to highlight some songs it would be the Glam-Folk-Title "Backstage Queen", a fresh bold ironic "Pop Song #11 & 34", as well as the rocking "Death Ride" which is the first single lift of the album. The darker side of EvilMrSod recovered in "Jesus Left Me Alone" and "Last Day On Earth". The tunes and the text mix show EvilMrSod different emotions - Joy, affliction, hope or even sarcasm - his own individual contemplative mixture.
