Formed in 1987 by singer Andy Maize and leadguitarist Josh Finlayson, the band soon added rhtyhm guiatrist Peter Cash, drummer Wayne Stokes and basssit Ron Macey to their lineup. They quickly became a regular house band at Toronto's Spadina Hotel, often playing with Cash's brotehr, singer/songwriter Andrew Cash. Hearing these 22 tracks, it's actually bittersweet to think of how much the Skydiggers were taken for granted during their prime years in the 90's. There all memorable songs that turned a new leaf on Canada's folk and country music traditions. That energy remains undiminished on The Truth About us, from the barebones of the self-titled debut to the slick twang on Road radio. The Truch About Us offers a lasting tribute to one of Canada's greatest roots rock bands. Includes 16 page booklet full of memoiries and essaysincluding tributes from Jim Cuddy, sarah harmer and Gord Downie. It also includes a bones 6 song dvd recorded and filmed at the Dakota Tavern in Toranto.
