This documentary examines the "way of life" and it's origins in England and the spread to America. The director, Brian Davis, is a skinhead and provides in his documentary an overview of the American skinhead scene and also takes a glance at England where the roots lie, but also at Germany where the biggest traditional scene exists.Jamaican influences in the late 60s made its contribution and a worldwide and continuous movement was formed over the last 40 years, characterized by its diversity. Unfortunately the media only highlights the facet of the numb, shaven-headed right wing extremist. Reports on the the Spirit of 69 and the decisive influence of black music (Ska and Reggae) on skinhead culture are rare. In this documentary Skinheads have a say that have been part of the scene since decades and make clear what Skinheads are, without lumping them all together and making sure to present the broad spectrum of being a skinhead.
