This Pittsburgh band features members Jami, Reba, and Joe from reputable Deathwish Records hardcore band CODE ORANGE KIDS who, along with friends Kimi and Dominic, formed ADVENTURES earlier this year. Only a few months later, the band recorded their debut self-titled EP and signed with No Sleep Records. While CODE ORANGE KIDS are known for their torrential hardcore, ADVENTURES dial back the ferocity by blending their punk and hardcore roots with passion-fueled indie-punk riffs and Reba and Joes raw vocals that result in a emotionally cathartic sound thats easily accessible. Think 90s-infused emo with a hint of screamo.

Since their inception in 2004, the Albany-based band has gone through many changes with their music evolving at each step of the way. What started off as a straightforward post-hardcore band in the early years wound up as an eleven-piece theatrical prog-rock spectacle before finally stripping things down again to a comfortable seven members, which include Nick Warchol (vocals), James Kehoe (guitar), Chris Tenerowicz (guitar/horns), Chris Kehoe (bass), Craig Dutra (keys), Laura Carrozza (flute/vocals) and Mark OBrien (drums). After years of DIY touring, AFICIONADO landed a record deal with No Sleep Records in 2009, which resulted in their first EP, When It Comes To Creation. Following the release AFICIONADO quickly gained traction in the media and began touring the country with notable bands. In 2011, the band released their eponymous debut-full length which received critical praise from the media and found them touring in support of acts like Tim Kasher (CURSIVE), TS & THE PAST HAUNTS, THURSDAY, MEWITHOUTYOU, ELECTRIC SIX and FAIR TO MIDLAND. While ever-evolving, AFICIONADOs new EP, Empty, showcases a masterful craft of songwriting that brings together eclectic instrumentation and indie rocks riffs, signalling another musical milestone in the bands career.

Set up as a collection of unpublished "short stories" complete with the authors notes and sectioned thematically by four monologues, Wildlife discusses the difficulties inherent in growing up by interweaving the authors own ambiguous loss and struggle for meaning alongside the stories it compelled him to document. Accordingly, each song musically captures both themoods and tones of those stories as well as the more subtle personal narrative throughout the entire record through a heavy reliance on dynamics and alternative instrumentation, allowing for a diversity that shows nearly every spot on the spectrum while never sounding out of place, forced, or unfamiliar. Recorded at both Drasik Studios in Chicago and StadiumRed in New York with Andrew Everding and Joe Pedulla using no artificial reverb, LA DISPUTEs sophomore full-length organically captures the sound of five friends committed to pushing their own creative boundaries while still retaining a desire to create honest and emotional music.
