Chip started professionally in the music business in 1962 when he went to Germany with a beat band called the "Horizens". Incidentally the lead singer was Rod Evans, "Deep Purple's" original singer. After playing the Hamburg clubs for while, much the same as "The Beatles", he started his career with "The Tremeloes" as lead singer/songwriter bass guitarist. The group became very successful worldwide with a string of hits such as, "Here Comes My Baby", "Silence Is Golden", (No.1 in America), "Suddenly You Love Me" and "Even The Bad Times Are Good" (all hits in the US). "The Tremeloes" became a household name in Europe and America notching up 18/20 top twenty chart entries and touring with "The Beatles", "Stones", "Hollies", "Kinks", "Who", "Spencer Davis" etc. From '74 to '79, the band split and Chip spent those years in Nashville Tennessee writing and recording two albums for R.C.A records.

The Tubes were arch satirists of popular culture whose outrageous performance-art concepts - which swung wildly from soft-core pornography to suit-and-tie conservatism - frequently eclipsed their elusive musical identity. The beginnings of the group originate in Phoenix, Arizona in the late '60s, where guitarist Bill Spooner, keyboardist Vince Welnick and bassist Rick Anderson formed as the Beans (alternately billing themselves as the Radar Men from Uranus). After moving to San Francisco in 1972, the Beans recruited guitarist Roger Steen and drummer Prairie Prince (from Red, White & Blues), and later became the Tubes with the addition of Michael Cotten on keyboards and former roadie Fee Waybill on lead vocals. After signing to A&M in 1975, they released their self- titled debut, followed a year later by Young and Rich; while both failed to transfer the manic energy and theatrical complexity of their live set onto record, the single "White Punks on Dope" became a minor hit and a radio staple.

This is the much publicised collection of rock demos that Shania Twain recorded back in 1989 and 1990 with hard rock veteran Paul Sabu. All but five of the songs were co-written by Sabu and Twain. At the time of the recordings, Sabu had been working with another gorgeous Canadian singer, Lee Metal Queen Aaron. Not surprisingly, the album sounds *a lot* like Aarons AORish late 80s albums. Some of the lyrics are a bit cheesy in places, but thats more of a reflection on the time period in which it was written, than on the songwriting talents of Twain and SabuThis entire package has been digitally remastered from the original recordings. The tracks range in style from pretty much pure pop, to AOR, to even some borderline hard rock. There is also one full on dance pop track, For The Love Of Him, which also appears a second time on the album in a dance mix version. On this album, Shania sounds absolutely incredible and you can really tell just what a fantastic voice she has
