2 - BRUTE HEART

Seventh release on the Mississippi Records imprint Water Wing. BRUTE HEART is Jackie Beckey, Crystal Brinkman & Crystal Myslajek, from Minneapolis. The bass, drum viola trio has been effectively blowing minds since 2007. BRUTE HEART has unleashed two LP's, as well as a killer 7" on M'LADYS. Now they have reached down into a deep reverb tank and pulled out "Wildfire", the A side to their new WATER WING 45rpm. Dub rhythms and pulsating bass lines collide with their usual layers of underwater vocals. Like their SOFT ABUSE LP, "Lonely Hunter", "Wildfire" was recorded by Minneapolis engineer, Mike Wisti (Mother Of Fire, Skoal Kodiak). In true dub fashion, on the flip is a re-mix of "Wildfire" deconstructed and rebuilt by the recording studio team of Alex Yusimov (Mirah, Grass Widow) and Jason Powers (Grails, Scout Niblett).

3 - CAETHUA
- THE SUMMER IS OVER BEFORE IT'S BEGU - (LP)

Caethua is the project of Maine resident Clare Hubbard. With a handful of releases under her belt on a variety of labels, The Summer Is Over is one of Hubbard's most realized works. Eight sonically perfect songs filled with heart-melting vocal melodies, and dream provoking lyrics. Tastefully accompanied by her piano, guitar, saxaphone and well placed soundscapes. She is joined on this record by the multi-instrumentalism of Andy Neubauer (Impractical Cockpit, Flowbee Au Naturale) who compliments this masterpiece with bass clarinet and cello. Recorded at The Pool Recording Studio by Alex Yusimov and artfully mastered by Tim Stollenwerk. This is a split release between everyone's favorite outsider label, Turned Word and the debut release on the new Mississippi Records imprint, Water Wing Records.

4 - LA LUZ
- CALL ME IN THE DAY/EASY BABY - (7")

La Luz came together in the Summer of 2012. The band began with Shana Cleveland (guitar) and Marian Li Pino (drums) (both formerly of the K Records psych rockers the Curious Mystery) and now features Abbey Blackwell on bass and Katie Jacobson on keyboards. The group brings a relaxed beach-babe vibe to their take on the sweet, thick harmonies of 60s girl-group and doo-wop bands. La Luz is driven by thumping, energetic bass lines, danceable surf beats, tembling organ, reverb-soaked guitar, and a wild love of rock'n'roll. The band recorded their first few songs with their friend (and ex- Curious Mystery bandmate) Johnny Goss in a sweaty apartment across from the laundry room in a Bothell, WA trailer park, and called the EP "Damp Face". "Call Me in the Day" and "Easy Baby" are two heartache hits from the "Damp Face" session.

Purple On Purple Makes Purple is the debut LP of this Portland, OR duo, displaying 14 top-notch songs at 45rpm, and their return to vinyl after a beloved 7" on Mississippi Records. Geoff and Elizabeth have both contributed musicianship to Tara Jane O'Neil (K Records) and Naysayer (Carrot Top). Geoff was also a founding member of the San Francisco outfit, Fuck (Matador, Smells Like Records). Sad Horse has shared the stage with the likes of Trumans Water, Jackie-O-Motherfucker, The Whines, The Sea and Cake and Eat Skull and recently completed a tour of Japan and Korea.

6 - TYVEK

At long last, the vinyl debut of this flawless compilation of Tyvek's early singles. Long out-of-print, and still in high demand, "Fast Metabolism" was initially issued as a CD-R only release, and quickly caught fire around the world. Hailing from Detroit, and behaving as if Wire had been the world's only hardcore band, Tyvek were (and still are) a much -needed adrenalin spike through the breast plate. These songs eventually were released as four very hard to find 7"s between 2006 and 2008. Issued in an edition of 2000 copies, with deluxe tip-on jackets, and mastered for precision by Timothy Stollenwerk, with the vinyl lacquers cut by Bob Weston, this is a co-production between Brooklyn, New York's M'lady's Records and Portland, Oregon's Water Wing Records.
