Cortina is from Haugesund, a small rainy city on the western side of Norway. The core of the band are the 2 sets of brothers Paul and Henning Hansen and Torleiv and Vegard Fossum. Paul Hansen is the band's songwriter and knows his trade well. Cortinas music is described as soft and warm popmelankoly mixed with good American spirit side by side with names as Ryan Adams, the Jayhawks and Coldplay. The band was formed on a party where Paul presented some of his songs, and as the night moved along more and more instruments were brought into the jam. The line-up was topped when the host of the party found his old cello in a closet and showed off some incrediblelines. Tree years later the band had self produced 3 songs in a studio and were releasing them with a consert. In the audience were members of Norways biggest band, Vamp, and they found it so good that they had to get them signed to their label and a year later Cortina released their first album "Been a Long time". After countless conserts and great critics, Vamp, the band that signed Cortina up in the first place was so happy with Paul, that they desided to take him up as their own lead singer, making him the lead singer of norways biggest band. Many fans thought this would be the end of Cortina, however Paul has continued writing his own material and is currently recording Cortinas second album.

This is Silje Hrafa's second album. She is a Norwegiansinger/songwriter flirting with country/bluegrass on this album named Two weeks, Two Months, two years. The title spins off the fact that the album was supposed to take two weeks recording, but ended up taking quite a lot longer. Silje has been active on the norwegian music stage for years, releasing her first album Vanilla Kiss in 2004 to great critics. After that she played all through norway, and also did conserts in Sweden, on Iceland and in the USA. Silje presents small love stories, and other stories from life on this album. Silje being active on the norwegian gay scene often writes about gay love, but has also engaged in the work with the weakest in the societyworking for the Salvation army in Norway something which also has influenced her lyrics. The album was well recieved in Norwey, and the title track recieved airplay for 22 weeks.

"A Band for all seasons" is a collection of 4 minialbumsfrom Larkin Poe, each named after their own season. The two Lovell Sisters Megan and Rebecca desided to start Larkin Poe in the beginnig of 2010 after the end of The Lovell Sisters.They had a lot of songs already finished and desided to dedicate 2010 to develop Larkin Poe and at the same time let their listeners follow them along the way by recording and releasing material all through the year and its seasons.The result is collected in this boxed set, "Band for allseasons", 31 songs, most originals recorded in Atlanta, however 3 of the tracks was recorded live in front of a live studio audience on a hot summer day by the seashore in the small town Giske in Norway.Earlier Rebecca and Megan Lovell has been critically acclaimed for the releases Time to Grow (2009) and When Forever Rolls Around (2006), releases they did with their eldest sister Jessica under the family name "The Lovell Sisters". As the Lovell sisters they toured extensively in USA and Europe, playing highlights as the Bonnaroo festival and The Grandole opry. Elvis Costello has followed the sisters for quite a while and has invited both The Lovell Sisters and Larkin Poe to join him on stage at numerous occations.

Larkin Poe is the extension of The Lovell Sisters, which received critical acclaim for their releases Time to Grow (2009) and When forever rolls around (2006). At that time they were 3 sisters who did success in the US. after winning the competition "A Prairie Home Companion" in front of 4.5 million radio listeners. Originally, the girls are trained in classical violin and piano, but when they heard bluegrass music, they chose to go in that musical direction with The Lovell Sisters.When the oldest sister Jessica after the "Time to Grow" album, decided to marry, attend school and take a break from music, it was natural for youngest sister Rebecca, now 18, to step into the leadrole and and create "Larkin Poe" together with her sister Megan.The band is flirting with pop and soul music more than ever, but the roots/bluegrass music is still evident. Larkin Poes concert debut was as a support act for The Indigo Girls, and 4 x Grammy Winner Brandi Carlie, before they went on a cruise playing side by side of Emmilou Harris.

Now still only 21 & 22 years of age they have launched themselves as Larkin Poe with 5 EPs and 1 Live DVD in two years and performances with such stars as Elvis Costello, Richard Thompson, and The Indigo Girls.Now the girls present a full album, this time collaborating with multiple norwegian "Spellemann" (Grammy) winner Thom Hell, and their special guest Sola Akingbola from the multi millon selling band Jamiroquai. The record was recorded in two periods over the two last years, at the studio "Ocean Sound" in Giske, Norway, the same studio Scottish band Travis just finished their upcoming album in. It started as a project to see what could come of a collaboration between Larkin Poe and Thom Hell, a norwegian artist Larkin Poe had listened to and liked while touring scandinavia. Luck brought the two bands together as Thom attended the bands concert, and two visits to the studio later 10 songs are presented on the album "The sound of the ocean sound". Sola Akingbola, the man playing percussion in the multimillion selling UK band Jamiroquai heard a rough mix of the record after playing at the Nobel peace prize concert in norway and was so eager to play on the record that he spent his 2 days off on his 2 months Jamiroquai tour to lay down some steady percussion work on the record.The record, availible on CD, Vinyl and Digital download has 10 tracks, 6 signed by the sisters in Larkin Poe, 3 signed by Thom Hell, and 1 of the songs was co written by Rebecca Lovell and Thom Hell in the studio. Masterpieces of pop songs with Larkin Poes signature mandolin and dobro works, together with the strong voices and choir work of both Larkin Poe and Thom Hell. The album also have the strong musicians Daniel Kimbro on bass, Chad Melton on drums and Mike Seal on guitars, all musicians who have played in the Larkin Poe band up until recently. The norwegian producer Audun Borrmann recorded and produced the album in close collaboration with Larkin Poe and Thom Hell.The album is viewed as a project, and the band will only appear on stage together on a few selected concerts in 2013

This is the well recieved second album from The Lovell Sisters. The Lovell Sisters, who have proven themselves time and again as polished performers, have been praised equally for both their virtuosic playing-Jessica on fiddle, Megan on dobro, Rebecca on guitar and mandolin-and their vibrant vocal harmonizing. They have played on the US festival and consert scene since putting out their first album "When forever rolls around".With Time To Grow, The Lovell Sisters are coming into their own. While their 2005 debut When Forever Rolls Around and 2007 CD/DVD Live At The Philadelphia Folk Festival showcased their dynamic musical interaction and interpretive gifts, The Lovell Sisters are emerging as songwriters. Time To Grow features five original songs, including two award-winners; the title track, "Time To Grow," is a finalist in the 2008 International Songwriting Competition, and "Distance," a GrandPrize Winner in the 2008 John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Although pre-production took place in The Lovell Sisters living room in Calhoun, GA, the album was recorded in Nashville, TN during the summer of 2008. It was co-produced by the sisters and engineer Brent Truitt, a seasoned mandolin player with credits including the Dixie Chicks, Dolly Parton, and Alison Krauss.The energy and spontaneity of American roots music that originally caught The Lovell Sisters attention continues to be an integral element of their live performances. Since 2004, they have toured throughout North America, and made three well-received European tours, with dates in Northern Ireland, Norway, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden and the Netherlands. With Time To Grow, The Lovell Sisters share their passion for music with their fans, with their colleagues, and especially with each other. The album has been really well recieved, amongs it currently being on it's third month on theEuropean Americana radio Chart.
