"Matapedia is about as far as you can go when youre going all the way. You get there, then you turn around and head for home and usually, when youre headed for home, you dont dawdle. Culled from Kate and Anna's personal archives, these are recordings made for various projects between 1973 and 1990, and feature many friends and family members (including a young Rufus Wainwright). Included are four songs by the pre-eminent 19th century American songwriter Stephen Foster (all previously unreleased); two Wade Hemsworth tunes; a home-recorded lullaby for a doll; a studio version of their live favourite "Parlez-Nous a Boire" ; a 1976 live version of "A La Claire Fontaine"; and an early 70s living-room demo about a lost cat called Louis.
