Delusions of grandeur - the third and difficult albumWith delusions of grandeur, The Mary Onettes was inspired by forgotten and strongly criticized albums from the eighties. The plan was to experiment, willingly risking to create that "bad" album that would confuse the fans, themselves and everyone else that had heard them before. Previous influences like The Cure and Joy Division have now been replaced by Sade, Whitney Houston, Peter Gabriel and Vangelis (!). Struggle in the studio "Hit the Waves" is produced by Dan Lissvik (Studio, The Embassy, Young Galaxy etc.). This is the first time The Mary Onettes works with an outside producer and the process has been everything but smooth. Conflicts and artistic differences have created a dynamic and hypnotic blend. The result is nothing less than brilliant - The Mary Onettes most interesting album to date.
